Welcome to the Online Support Package for Providers of Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA)
Thank you for joining this dedicated training resource, designed specifically for Providers working within the Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA) sector.
Supported Exempt Accommodation is a housing model that combines accommodation with vital support services for individuals with specific support needs. While this model plays a crucial role in providing safe, stable housing for vulnerable people, it has also become a topic of national concern. Issues such as inconsistent quality, minimal regulation, and the potential for exploitation—especially given the higher levels of Housing Benefit funding—have placed the sector under increased scrutiny.
Despite these challenges, many Providers are committed to delivering high-quality, ethical, and person-centred services. This training package is designed to support those Providers who are looking to strengthen their practice, enhance professional standards, and contribute positively to the sector.
DASH Services, as part of its work under one of the Supported Housing Improvement Programme pathfinder projects, has developed this course to help improve knowledge, compliance, and good practice across the SEA landscape.
This course includes:
- An Induction to Supported Housing – The Derby City Approach
- Risk Management & Risk Assessment in Supported Accommodation
- Core Rents and Eligible Service Charges
- Derby City Council’s New Provider Process: Housing Benefit
We’re pleased to support your journey toward delivering better, safer, and more accountable supported housing. Let’s get started.
